Procedure:Lumpectomy and oncoplastic breast reduction
Patient is 74-year-old female with left breast cancer. The preop photo on the left demonstrates bruising from a left breast biopsy and breast ptosis(droopiness). The tumor was under her left nipple and the nipple would collapse if the tumor was simply removed. Oncoplastic breast surgery was done together with the lumpectomy in order to move tissue from her left breast under the nipple for support. Photos are shown 6 weeks post op. She later underwent radiation therapy to her breast.
