Procedure:Lumpectomy and oncoplastic breast reduction
Patient is a 37-year-old female with right breast cancer and breast asymmetry. Bruising in the right breast from a breast biopsy is seen in the preop photo on the right. She underwent a simultaneous lumpectomy for breast cancer and oncoplastic breast reduction for balancing. This surgical technique allows maximal preservation of a patient’s natural breast and can reestablish symmetry and the tumor is removed. Radiation therapy to the right breast was started 6 weeks after surgery. There some residual redness and discoloration of the right breast skin following radiation. Postop photos on the right are 7 months after surgery.
